You can configure Dayforce to schedule shifts as on-call, also known as standby shifts. These shifts represent time that an employee isn't scheduled to work, but is “on call” to come to work, if needed.
To add a standby shift:
- Go to Centralized Schedules and load a template.
- Expand your template’s grouping hierarchy and do one of the following:
- Go to the hierarchy’s lowest level and click the add icon in the appropriate cell.
- Expand the Employee section and click the add icon in the appropriate cell.
- In the Add Schedule dialog box that opens, configure the shift’s details.
- Note: For details about the settings in this dialog box, see Add Shifts.
- Click the on-call icon (
). Dayforce updates the icon with the unconfirmed standby shift icon (
).
- Click the icon again. In the message that opens, click OK to send an SMS message to the employee to confirm the standby shift. Dayforce updates the icon with the standby shift icon (
).
- Click Apply, then OK.
On the schedule, Dayforce marks the shift with the unconfirmed standby shift icon or the confirmed standby shift icon.
