Add Shifts

In Centralized Schedules, you can add shifts for groupings or specific employees in the Add Schedule dialog box. The Add Schedule dialog box opens whenever you click the add icon ().

Setting Definition
Employee Drop-down list to select an employee or create an unfilled shift. If you create an unfilled shift and want to post it for your employees to bid on, click the post unfilled schedule icon ().
Schedule Read-only field that shows the shift's scheduled hours. To make this a standby shift, click the standby icon ().
Gross Hours Shows the shift’s gross hours.
Net Hours Shows the shift’s net hours (that is, the total hours minus any meals or breaks). To have Dayforce automatically adjust meal and break times when you change a shift's start or end times, click the lock icon ().
Comments Field to enter shift comments. When you enter a comment, Dayforce adds the comment icon to the shift ().
Employee Availability Read-only field that shows the selected employee’s availability.
Shift Origin Drop-down list to select a shift origin. When you add shifts for employees, User is selected by default.

Add Break
Buttons to add activities, meals, and breaks.
Delete Button to delete segments.
Segment Read-only field that shows the segment number.
Start Time
End Time
Fields for entering the start and end times for the segment, meal, or break.
Location
Location Type
Drop-down lists for specifying the shift's location and location type. You can configure location types in Org Setup > Locations, in the Location Types tab. See “Configure Location Types” in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

Docket
Project
Drop-down lists for specifying additional segment details.
Comment Field to enter segment comments.
