The Career Explorer feature uses the European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) system to track skills and make recommendations.
Career Explorer uses the skills associated with the organization's job assignment and the skills that each employee adds to their profile to find job opportunities and share custom insights and recommendations.
When Career Explorer is enabled, a list of skills is automatically populated for each job assignment in Org Setup > Jobs and Job Assignments. These skills are based on job assignment title, job assignment description (if available) or job-level description, and existing job posting details. Each skill also includes an expected proficiency level.
You can update, add, or delete these populated skills, as needed. For newly added job assignments, the list of skills is populated automatically after you click Save. However, it might take some time for the skills to be shown.
When employees add skills to their profile in Career Explorer, the complete list of ESCO skills is available to them, sorted by occupation. Custom skills and proficiency levels aren’t supported. For more information about the available skills, see the ESCO Skills Reference Guide.
