Links to Subpages from External Sources

You can deep link to a specific published subpage from Message Center, email, or other external environments outside of Dayforce. All subpages include a Share Link button on the top right of the page for you to click when you want to share a link to a page.

Before you share links, the following applies to subpages:

  • Subpages must be published before they can be shared.
  • Subpage visibility must include web. Currently, the functionality to share links to mobile subpages isn't available.
  • Even though you can't share a link to a subpage where the visibility is for mobile, when you share a link to a subpage where the visibility is all or web only, and the recipient clicks the link on a mobile device, it will open the Dayforce web application in a browser for them to log in and see the page.

Localized Subpage Links

If you have published localized versions of a page, but not the default version, you can still copy the URL link, but you get a warning. The message reminds you that the default language page is still a draft, so the copied link won’t show to some or all end users until you publish the page in the default language. Additionally, if the default page and the page in the end user’s language haven't been published, when the user tries to open the link, Dayforce shows a message indicating that the page isn’t available.

Modified Subpage Links

If a subpage is copied after the link was shared, the link points to the original version of the page. If a subpage has been deleted, moved to a hub that the employee doesn't have access to, or a published version of the subpage no longer exists after the link was shared, Dayforce shows a message to end users indicating that the page is unavailable.

Subpage Link Permissions

Employees can only open shared links if they are included in the assigned audience for those links. If they don’t belong to the assigned audience of the shared page, Dayforce shows an error message. If employees have a link, but are removed from the audience, when they click the link, they will no longer see the linked page and Dayforce shows an error message.
