Before You Begin: As an Advanced Experience Hub customer, you must make sure that the Hub Data Sync background job in System Admin > Background Jobs is enabled before you configure the Intelligent Search role feature so search indexing or reindexing can occur. If this background job isn’t run, it’s highly likely that the search will return no results. After the initial run, it’s recommended that you set the job to run every hour (if not already scheduled) to make sure that search results remain accurate. The purpose of the Hub Data Sync background job is to improve performance during the search indexing process and ensures the data required (such as Hub Assignment information, Hub Audience information, and Client Cultures) for indexing pages and documents for Co-Pilot and Intelligent Search is up to date.
Important: The Scheduled Content widget content isn’t currently searchable.
With Hub Content Search you can use Co-Pilot or Intelligent Search to quickly find content that is added to the Hub pages that you have access to in Dayforce. You can search Hub pages and subpages for the following content in Rich Text Editor, Featured Link, and Quick Link widgets:
- Names of any files linked from the Media Library
- Titles of external links
- All text in Rich Text Editor widgets
Intelligent Search is an intuitive search that predicts search results in real time while you type. A drop-down list shows the search results. You can then either continue to type your query or select an option from the list of suggestions. When you search, you can enter partial words, numbers, pages, subpages, links, or files. Search results include both Hub content, and Dayforce content outside of Hub (features, self-service forms, and people in your organization). You can click with your mouse or use the down arrow on your keyboard to select a suggestion from the search results.
Select See all results to open the entire search results list where the different categories (All, People, Features, Pages and Files) are separated by tabs.

Note: Search is only available for Advanced Experience Hub customers.
Factors That Impact Search Results
The following factors can affect your search results:
- If the Hub Data Sync background job wasn’t run, it’s highly likely that the search will return no results.
- Hub search results are based on the pages that your Hub audience is assigned to, which determines the pages you have access to.
- If Hub content has been moved, unpublished, or deleted, you won't have access to the content.
- If Hub content is copied within the same hub, the search results return content from the relevant pages that you have access to.
- If an administrator creates a new Hub Assignment for the audience you belong to, you need to log out and back in to see the new search results. Also, if your audience is modified, added, or removed from a Hub Assignment, you also need to log out and back in to see the new search results.
- For your search to be successful, the Advanced Experience Hub page must exist in the language you use for your search. Even if you see the default language page while you’re logged in using a different culture, your search won’t return results if your search terms aren’t in the default language.
- Changes to Hub content might not be immediately reflected in the search results, especially when administrators publish, or unpublish a new hub or many subpages.
Important: For mobile app users of Co-Pilot, Hub content can appear as an answer to a question, regardless of the Visibility settings on Hub pages, sections, widgets, and links. For example, even if a widget is set to Visibility = Web, Co-Pilot can still display its content as an answer on mobile.
