Experience Hub Appearances

Before you create your first hub, you might want to create an appearance. Appearances are templates or themes for the basic look and feel of the pages that you or others create.

When you create appearances, you can set the following options for hubs and subpages:

Web Appearance

  • Whether this is the default appearance. If you ever want to change the default appearance, when you add a checkmark to the Default checkbox of the appearance you want as default, Dayforce automatically clears the checkbox of the previous default appearance.
  • Include a header background image for the web application. The header background image covers the top section of the page. See Create and Apply Appearances.
  • Specify the page background accent color for the web application. This color picker changes the header background color.
  • Specify the web accent color. This color picker changes the color of the any decorative icons in the Favorites widget and, in Quick Links or Featured Links widgets in Hub.

Mobile Appearance

  • Include a mobile app logo.
  • Specify the mobile accent colors. This color picker changes the color of the subpage's tabs, "Read More" string on the main hub page, and the feature icons in Quick Links and Featured Links widgets.
  • Note: Mobile accent colors are automatically paired with a dark mode version of the color and are all considered accessible colors.

The appearance dialog box displays the web application and mobile app in separate sections for you to specify the appearance for each platform:

When selecting logos and header background images, keep these recommendations in mind:

  • For mobile logos, use a high-resolution PNG image file, at least 192 pixels in height. A lower-resolution file will result in the logo appearing blurry on mobile devices. Due to the limited space on mobile devices, use a minimal logo design that complies with your corporate branding with a transparent background. If your logo is complex, for example, if your logo contains a shape and some words, consider using only the shape portion as the logo, if that complies with your corporate branding standards.
  • For header background images, use an image that is at least 1920 x 300 pixels and preferably less than 1 MB in size. The image will scale to fit the width of the browser window so use a larger image if it appears blurry. The greeting text displays on top of the image so it’s important to choose an image that isn’t too busy. See Media.
