Report Marketplace

Disclaimer: Report Marketplace provides access to a library of preconfigured and commonly requested reports. Report Marketplace might also include custom-built reports for specific client use as created and shared by other customers. Please note that the reports available in Report Marketplace are only generic starting points. The reports haven’t been designed or reviewed to comply with any specific application of the law, regulations, or other requirements for customers. Using these reports is optional and at your own risk. The reports shouldn’t be construed as legal, tax or other advice specific to any individual or organization. Please consult a legal or tax adviser for such advice. As a customer, you are responsible for reviewing, testing, and approving all reports configured in Dayforce and the resulting data, and adjusting the reports to suit your specific needs.

Role feature access: Report Marketplace

Report Marketplace contains a curated library of reports built by Dayforce reporting experts. You can find, filter, preview, edit, and save reports from the marketplace to your report library. You can also share feedback on reports from the marketplace by leaving ratings and reviews, which are visible to users within and outside of your organization.

After you add reports from Report Marketplace to your report library, you can edit them and use them the same way you would with other custom reports.

You can get to Report Marketplace from the navigation panel or from Reporting and Analytics > Reporting > Reports by clicking Add > Add Report from Marketplace. Both options take you to the Report Marketplace home screen:

Marketplace home page with the search field above the category tiles.

For information about how to use Report Marketplace, see:

Find Reports in Report Marketplace

You can browse Report Marketplace by category or search using keywords. To browse, click one of the category tiles on the home screen. This takes you to the results screen, which displays all of the reports in the category you selected. You can use the filter options to narrow down the results.

Alternatively, you can perform a more precise search. Enter keywords and click Search to go to see all of the reports that have any of your keywords in the category, title, description, tags, or in the fields in the report.

You can use the filter options to narrow down the results:

  • Categories: Reports are tagged with categories, and Dayforce shows only the categories relevant to your results.
  • Tags: Dayforce shows only the tags that are associated with the reports in your results. Select one or more to filter the list.
  • Minimum Rating: Select a score and Dayforce filters the list to show reports that have that rating or higher.

To clear the filters and return to your original list of results, click Clear Filters at the top of the screen.

You can change the order of reports on the results screen. Click Sort By and then select the sorting option you want to apply:

  • Title: Sort by the report title in alphabetical order.
  • Trending: Sort by the number of users who added the report to their report library in the last 30 days, highest to lowest.
  • New: Sort by the date the report was added to the marketplace, newest to oldest.
  • Views: Sort by the number of views of the report, highest to lowest.
  • Rating: Sort by the average rating of the reports, highest to lowest. If multiple reports have the same average rating, the ones with the highest number of ratings are displayed first.

View Report Details

To find out more about a report on the results screen, click its name to open the report details screen. In addition to the report information that is shown on the results screen, the details screen shows a longer description, any reviews that have been written for the report, and the fields and filters that the report contains.

The Report Fields section shows the name of each column in the report followed in parentheses by the entity and the field name separated by a period. For example, in the screenshot below, the report contains a column that is called Employee Number. The data comes from the EmployeeNumber field in the EmployeeEmploymentStatus entity. Custom fields aren’t associated with an entity, so they’re shown with the field name alone without an entity.

Report Fields section showing three columns.

The Report Filters section shows the list of fields that are included in the filters for the report. Like the list fields, filters are shown as entity.field and custom fields are shown as the field name alone.

On the report details screen, you can add the report to your library and leave a rating or review of the report. For more information, see the following:

Add a Report to Your Report Library

When you find a report that you want to use, click the name of the report to view the report’s details screen and then click Add Report. Dayforce opens the report in the report designer. You can edit the report columns and filters the same way as a custom report.

To save the report to your library, click Save As. Dayforce adds the prefix “MKT:” to the beginning of the report name to help you identify which reports came from the marketplace. You can remove the prefix when you save the report.

If you decide not to add the report to your library, you can close it without saving it by clicking the arrow on the left side of the slide-out panel.

Rate and Review a Report

To help other users find reports that suit their needs, you can leave ratings and reviews on the Report Marketplace. You must provide a star rating before you leave a review, but you can leave the rating by itself without writing a review if you prefer.

Click one of the stars at the top of the screen to leave a rating or scroll down and click Write a Review. One star is the worst rating and five stars is the best. Clicking the star opens the review dialog box, where you can optionally leave your review. Click Submit to save your rating and your review if you wrote one. Other users can see reviews at the bottom of the report details screen after they have been approved by a Dayforce moderator. Reviews don’t include any information about the name or organization of the users who submitted them.

At any time, you can update your star rating by clicking the star for your new rating. This opens the review dialog box, where you can also update your review. Your updated review will be shown to other users after it has been approved by a Dayforce moderator.

To delete your review, click Edit Review to open the review dialog box. Click Delete Review and then click Confirm. After you click Confirm, it’s no longer visible to any users.
