Preceda Centralized Data Loads
Use the Preceda Centralized Data Loads wizard to manage and load multiple employee data files that were generated from Preceda in to Dayforce. With this wizard, you can access the Employee Additional Data zip file created by the Employee Data (Preceda Migration) file transfer process (FTP). Activate processes the files included in .zip format and shows a corresponding status next to each of the files.
Important: This page is only available to Preceda projects.
Note: This wizard doesn’t update the Gender Identity core values in Dayforce.

Before you begin
The following selections are required on the Activate Setup page:
- Opportunity Type: Ascender
- Ascender Migration Type: Preceda
Messages: Error, Warning, and Information
Activate sorts each generated message by severity:
Error codes
Actively incompatible with the data in Dayforce. If you have a data error, you must resolve the error before you can complete the installation.
Warning codes
Indicate nonstandard setup that could potentially cause an error in Dayforce. For example, if an earning code is defined as Hours x Rate and the data is amount only, the system creates a warning. However, you can still import the data into the system.
Informational codes
A notable occurrence of data in the system. For example, an informational note shows if codes are dropped from the YTD import.
Tasks
To confirm that you’ve completed the required steps:
-
In Activate Central, click Load Your Data. The Load Your Data wizards are shown.
-
Click Preceda Centralized Data Loads. The What you need to know before you start page opens.
-
Read the information on the page.
-
In the Before you proceed section, select the checkbox next to the following statements to confirm that:
- All Work Contracts exist in Dayforce.
- All Employee Balances exist in Dayforce.
- All Identification Types exist in Dayforce.
- All Jobs, Departments, and Org Units have unique and defined XRefCodes.

To upload additional HR data:
-
Review the information on the Preceda Centralized Data Loads page.
All files show an initial status of “Not Loaded.” This status remains until at least one file loads. Then, the status changes to Ready or Error.
-
Click Upload.
Select the zip file generated from Preceda to begin the bulk upload of your Preceda Employee Additional Data.
Activate provides the additional data files in Preceda CSV (comma-separated value) format.
As Activate processes the files provided in zip format, a corresponding status shows next to each file. All files begin with an initial status of "Not Loaded," and the Load Selected Files button is grayed out.
A table in the center of the page lists:
-
Data File - The available data files. See Preceda Employee additional HR data (above) for the list of data files.
-
Status - The current status and includes Error, Loaded, Not Loaded, Loading, and Ready to Load.
-
History - The previous actions that have been taken on this file.
-
Action - The available action, including Review and Load.
As the .zip file processes, each data load shows a color-coded status.
If standard critical validation errors are generated, the upload fails.
You can filter the files by status
Ready to Load
|
The data file passed all validations and successfully loaded.
Files with this status have a checkbox in the Actions column to indicate that they’ll be included in the bulk upload. After successfully loading, the files’ statuses change to "Loaded." The files also have a timestamp with the date, time, and user details in the History column.
Note: If you try to unload a .zip file when some modules have the Ready to Load status, an override warning shows.

The installation takes 1–2 hours to complete.

- Add Email and enter your email address to be notified when the installation process ends instead of waiting for it to finish.
- Next when the installation is complete.
