NZ Holiday Act Starter Build Wizard

Use the NZ Holiday Act Starter Build wizard to install the New Zealand Holiday Act templated data configurations in a single import into Dayforce.

The NZ Holiday Act Starter Build wizard is based on the New Zealand Holidays Act 2003. This Act governs leave entitlements such as annual leave, public holidays, and sick and bereavement leave. Because the Act is updated and amended frequently, and the rules for calculating entitlements can be intricate, this wizard gives a way to manage this information in a way that reduces configuration time and ensures consistency.

Important: The installation includes Payroll, Workforce Management, and Entitlement configuration information. When installed, the Templated Configurations can only be removed completely with a database rollback. You should only continue if you understand the applicable templated configurations included in the New Zealand package.

Important: The templated configuration provides assistance in configuring a blank database for initial use. The requirements for New Zealand can vary by industry and customer, and they don’t provide legal, tax, or other advice specific to any individual or organization. Dayforce doesn’t guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of the information in the templated configurations. Consult your appropriate legal or tax adviser for advice. Customers are responsible for reviewing, testing, and approving all configurations in Dayforce before moving them into Production.

Entitlement policies

Entitlement policies determine how employees earn balances, like Vacation and Sick. You add Entitlement Policies and set up the entitlements within them in Dayforce with the Entitlement Policies wizard.

Prerequisites

You must first set up the Entitlement Policies in the Entitlement Policies wizard.

Tasks

To read the information about entitlement policies and the wizard:
  1. In Activate Central, click Build Dayforce and the Build Dayforce wizards show.
  2. Click NZ Holiday Act Starter Build.
  3. On the Intro page, read the information about Entitlement Policies and the wizard
  4. Click Next.

    Important: A dialog box warns you that by continuing, you’re committing to the installation of the New Zealand Holiday Act configuration.

  5. Click one of the following:
    • OK to continue with the installation.

      The Install page opens and Activate begins importing the data in Dayforce

    • Cancel to return to the Intro page.

  6. If you want to return to Activate Central, click Back.

To install entitlement policy information:

  1. On the Install page, click one of the following:

    • Add Email and enter your email address to be notified when the installation process ends instead of waiting for it to finish.
    • Next when the installation is complete.

    When the migration is complete, a dialog box opens stating that the migration script has been applied successfully with the following information:

    • Number of rows inserted
    • Number of rows updated

  2. Click OK.

    Activate Central opens with the wizard name now in green text and a green checkmark next to it. The day, date, and time of completion show, along with your name as the user who completed the wizard. The environment in which the installation was applied (Stage, Config, or Train) is also shown.

Results

The installation includes Payroll, Workforce Management, and Entitlement configuration information.
