Mass Global Property Changes

Use the Mass Global Property Changes wizard to assign global property values to employees in selected countries.

You can import the global properties in a single step. Doing this removes the need for multiple imports and significantly reduces implementation time and effort. The result is increased productivity and reduced risk of data discrepancies. This wizard supports loading multiple global properties per country and provides the flexibility to set the effective start date for these changes.

Important: The Mass Global Property Changes wizard is available only for organizations that have an employee population in at least one of the supported countries.

This wizard currently supports the following countries only. Countries that are added to Dayforce in the future will be available in Activate immediately.

Tasks

To select the country and fields to assign to employees:

  1. In Activate Central, click Change Employee Data to open the wizard.
  2. Click Mass Global Property Changes.
  3. On the Field Selector page, select or search for the employee pay group country that’s relevant for the assignment.

The country you select must be configured with Global Properties in Dayforce.

  4. Select the fields to assign in a group to the employees.

The country that you selected in the previous field determines which fields you can select here. If you didn’t select a country on the Field Selector page, no fields show here.

Note: If you select fields on this page and then select a different country, no fields show in this field for you to select from.

  5. Select when the new values need to be effective on the employees’ records:
    • To the current record
    • To the earliest record
    • As of original hire date
    • As of most recent hire date
    • As of next pay period
    • As of a specific date
  6. Click Next.

To select the fields to assign to employees:

  1. On the Field Selector page, select the employee pay group country that’s relevant for this assignment.

The countries that show in this list are enabled in your Dayforce instance. Each country supports a single load, so you can load or assign a group of global properties. The global properties must all belong to the same country. The country you select must be configured with Global Properties in Dayforce.

  2. Select the fields to assign as a group.

The fields in the list are based on the country that you selected.

  3. Select when the new values need to be effective on the employees’ records:
    • To the current record
    • To the earliest record
    • As of original hire date
    • As of most recent hire date
    • As of next pay period
    • As of a specific date
  4. Click Next.

To select the employees and the assignment values:

  1. On the Value Selector page, click one of the following to select the employees that you want to assign the country and fields to:
    • All Employees: Assigns the values to all employees. (Default)
    • Filter for groups of Employees: Assigns different values to different employees. When you select this option, the Employee Details and Employee Group & Policies drop-down lists show. Select the checkboxes next to the employee profile attributes of the employees that you want to assign the values to.

The employee pay group country that you selected on the Field Selector page controls the employees who are available on this page.

The total number of employees is in the bottom-right corner of the field, based on the pay group country that you selected.

  2. Click one of the following to select the values that you want to assign to the employees. If default values for any global properties were selected in your Dayforce instances, those values automatically show in the list. Otherwise, you must select the values.
    • Quickly assign values to all selected employees: Use the Quick Assign option to select a single value to assign to all employees. This method is the quickest and is the default.
    • Specify values for each selected employee: Assign different values to different employees. This option is more flexible but takes more time to complete. The available fields are based on what you selected on the Field Selector page. For each value that you want to assign, click its Value drop-down list and select or enter a value.

Important: If an employee already has a global property in Dayforce and you select a new global property in Activate, the new value overwrites the previous value.

  3. Click Done.

To review and confirm the data:

  1. On the Mass Assignment Review page, review the information in the grid.
  2. To make updates to data on the page:
    • To insert a new row in the grid, click the row where you want to insert it and click New.

To install the data:

Important: If someone is signed directly in to Dayforce and potentially applying manual configuration, Activate shows a warning at Done & Install. Don’t continue with the Activate installation if users are actively applying configuration changes. Users’ changes might be lost if a failure occurs during the Activate installation. Download the User Report and follow up with the team members before you continue with the Activate wizard.

  1. Click one of the following:

    • Add Email and enter your email address to be notified when the installation process ends instead of waiting for it to finish.
    • Next when the installation is complete.

Activate Central opens. The Mass Location Access Changes wizard name shows in blue text and the icon to the left of the wizard name shows in gray text.

Note: You can complete this wizard as often as needed.

Results

You can see the additional global properties in Dayforce on the People Search > Employment > Global Properties page.

The loaded template files include the columns of successfully loaded data only. They don’t include every available field in the wizard. To download the successfully loaded files, go to the dedicated section for each wizard on the Download Template Files page. After downloading the files, you can use them for auditing purposes or you can update them, if needed.
