Import Historical Data
The first step in Getting Started is to tell Activate whether you want to import historical data and/or work assignment data for the project.
Note: To load historical data, you must have contracted for historical data loads in your Statement of Work (SOW).
Tasks
To indicate whether you need to load historical data and work assignment data for the project:
- On the Options page, indicate whether you need to load historical compensation and/or historical work assignment data for the project.
- Yes: Activate makes the Status Start Date and Job Start Date fields in the data template required.
Note: Only click Yes if you’ve contracted for historical data loads in your Statement of Work (SOW).
If you click Yes, Activate:
- Sets the Start Date and Job Start Date fields in the data template to required.
- Creates a single Environment Status record for each employee using the Status Start Date provided. This record will require you to load historical status records before you load the YTD and Benefits to ensure successful and accurate data loads.
- No: Activate loads all status and work assignment records with a start date of the employees' provided Original Hire Date.
If terminated employees are included in the file, Activate creates two records:
- An Active record effective from the employee’s Original Hire Date that ends as of their Termination Date.
- A Termination record effective from the employee’s Termination date provided in the template.
If any dates are populated in the Status Start Date or Job Start Date fields, a warning states that the values will be ignored. The Original Hire Date will be used to effective date all records.
- Click Done.
