Configuration Validation Tool
Note: The Configuration Validation Tool is accessible to non-customer users only.
Use the Configuration Validation Tool (CVT) to run a query on a customer database that checks for:
- Configuration issues
- Data integrity issues
These issues could cause a failure, such as preventing an HR import from loading.
CVT evaluates the Dayforce databases against a list of Audit rules that are designed to detect configuration and data problems on a specific customer. An audit rule is an SQL query that checks Dayforce for specific data issues. For example, the rule “All employees have a value for HireDate“ verifies the existence of the hire date and reports the records without it.
Audit rules can cover any Dayforce module listed in the “Product Line“ heading on the left side of the CVT Audit Report Settings page.
The “Activate Data Conversion“ preconfigured bundle is a small grouping of audits run against a customer’s database. Run this bundle before Activate data loads to circumvent load issues proactively.
Audit results
After running an audit report against a customer environment, the Audit Results page opens with the following sections:
Summary
The Summary provides an outline of the audit results by module and severity.
Detailed Client report
The Detailed Client Report provides a breakdown of the audit report by rule. You can click a column header to sort the data and use the action buttons to rerun a rule or to see any additional details. This feature lists each affected data record that caused the rule to fail.

The Audit Results page opens with a summary view of the audit report. If the query returns any records, a Fail status is generated.
