Dayforce Release Notes version 2025.1.1

Version
R2025.1.1

WFM-71742

Updated Dayforce so that manual balance transactions don’t affect the total grant amount in features where you can view read-only balance information. Examples of these features include Work > Time Away List and in People in the Overview screen in the Balance Information message.

Made updates in several areas of Dayforce to support the functionality that end-dates balance periods.

Updates to the Entitlement Tracer

Updated the entitlement tracer in People in the Work > Balances screen to support balances that are automatically end-dated by Dayforce. The following updates were made:

  • Added a new event type for balance events that involve a balance that’s being end-dated. Now, in the Entitlement Tracer slide-out panel in the Table View tab, in the Balance Events section, Dayforce shows Balance period end value in the Source column for balance events that involve an end-dated balance.
For end-date balance events that are automatically triggered by Dayforce, the Balance period end value option is selectable as a hyperlink. If you click the hyperlink, Dayforce adds and opens the Detail View tab. You can view the event’s details in this tab.
If the balance event involves the end of a balance period that was manually initiated by a user, the Balance period end value source isn’t a hyperlink and you can’t click it to view the event’s details.
  • Updated the ruleset-level details that Dayforce shows in the Detail View tab to include the setting that controls whether an entitlement ruleset is configured to support end-dated balances. Now, when you select an entitlement ruleset and Dayforce shows the Ruleset Details sidebar, the application shows the End Date Balance Period setting and its configuration. Dayforce derives this information from the entitlement ruleset configuration in Pay Setup > Entitlements in the Entitlements tab.

See the following topics in the Dayforce Implementation Guide:

Default Client Property Configuration

Updated Dayforce so that the Enable Balance Period Validation client property is now enabled by default for new customers. This client property is located in System Admin > Client Properties in the Properties tab, in the General section.

It’s recommended that you select the Enable Balance Period Validation checkbox if you’re an existing customer that uses end-date functionality for balance periods in Dayforce, but this configuration isn’t mandatory.

See System Admin > Client Properties in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

Added Support to Prorate Grant-Based Balances

Updated the Frequency Grant Accrual and Frequency Grant Reset entitlement rules with the ability to prorate grant-based balances when employees switch entitlement policy assignments. To support this update, the Prorate on policy change checkbox was added to the settings for each rule.

See the following topics in the Dayforce Implementation Guide:

Updates to the Balance Recalc Process

Updated Dayforce to end-date balance periods in scenarios where the calculation period includes only the last effective date of an entitlement policy assignment before a policy switch. Previously, Dayforce end-dated balance periods only if you also included the day after the policy end date in the balance recalculation period.

See Recalculation Best Practices in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WFM-78417

Updated the Date Qualifier in Pay Setup > Entitlements so that the Last Day of Month checkbox is selected by default when you add a new instance of the qualifier.

WFM-80076

Updated Dayforce to validate more characters in the Conversion formula field in several entitlement rules and qualifiers. Now, when you configure a conversion formula for a rule or qualifier in Pay Setup > Entitlements, the application disallows invalid characters, such as square brackets or tokens in parentheses. Dayforce generates an error in the Problems panel when you use these characters.

In Pay Setup > Entitlements in the Recurrences tab, renamed the Start Date recurrence date type to First Date Worked. This recurrence date type is available in the Start Date Type and End Date Type drop-down lists.

See Recurrences in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
