Improved how Dayforce manages employee garnishments for those employees whose garnishment orders originate from a state different from their current work assignment state. Previously, when a garnishment request involved different state rules, Dayforce generated a warning message and no further directives. With this release, Dayforce provides payroll administrators with more detailed warnings and a request to verify if they need to configure the Override Work State field in the Payroll > Garnishments screen, in the Properties tab in People. When an employee’s work state laws allow this type of override, the garnishment calculations are based on the rules from the override state, ensuring proper payment processing. Note: When a payroll administrator configures the Override Work State field for an employee’s work state that doesn’t permit overrides, the application flags the garnishment calculation to be out of compliance and potentially puts the employer in a liability situation. | |
