Updated Centralized Schedules so that users can submit schedules for approval. This update was made so that the ability to submit and post schedules is available in both the Centralized Schedules and Schedules features. In Dayforce, the Submit Schedule for Approval access authorization controls the ability to either post schedules or submit them to a manager for approval. This access authorization is located in System Admin > Roles in the Authorizations tab. When users are assigned all of the Submit Schedule for Approval permissions, the Submit button is available in Schedules. Alternatively, when users don’t have any Submit Schedule for Approval permissions, the Post button is available in Schedules. Previously, in Centralized Schedules, only the Post button was available. If users were assigned all of the Submit Schedule for Approval permissions, the Submit button wasn’t available. Now, when users are assigned these permissions, the Submit button is available in the toolstrip of Centralized Schedules. Note: To submit or post schedules, users also require access to the Schedules > Post Schedules role feature in System Admin > Roles in the Features tab. When you click Submit in Centralized Schedules, the Submit Schedule for Approval dialog box opens, where you can select a location to approve and add a comment. After you click Submit in the dialog box, Dayforce shows pending entries for each zone that you scheduled for the location: If your operational template covers a two-week or four-week schedule period, Dayforce shows the Week drop-down list where you choose a specific week to view its status. Also, if you select another location that wasn’t submitted for approval, the dialog box reverts to its previous state where you can add a comment and submit the location’s schedule for approval. Lastly, as a part of this update, the Schedule Approved, Schedule Submission Denied, and Schedule Submitted notifications were updated to include schedule submissions in Centralized Schedules in their scope. Note that Dayforce sends separate notifications for each zone that’s included in the submission for approval and for each week in the schedule period. For example, if your submission for approval includes three zones and covers a two-week schedule period, Dayforce sends six separate Schedule Submitted notifications. See the following topics:

Updated Centralized Schedules so that you can now group shifts by zones. To support this update, in Schedule Setup > Operational Templates, in the Groupings section, the Zone option was added to the Type drop-down list. In Centralized Schedules, in the Load panel, when you select a template that has a zone grouping, you need to select one or more zones to group by. As part of this update, in the Printed Centralized Schedule report, the Zone option was added to the Group By drop-down list.
Updated Centralized Schedules so that, when you add a new shift to a group, Dayforce automatically expands the group so that you can immediately see the shift. Previously, you had to expand the group manually.
Added read-only details about scheduled shift bidding sessions in the Manage Shift Bids panel in Schedules. Now, when you open the Manage Shift Bids panel and a scheduled bidding session is active, Dayforce shows the read-only Bidding Session section that includes details about the session. This section shows details such as the session’s bidding group and when the bidding windows open and close. Note: This functionality is available only in Schedules. It’s currently unavailable in Centralized Schedules. Scheduled shift bidding sessions are configured in Schedule Setup > Shift Marketplace Template. If you open the Manage Shift Bids panel, the Bidding Session section is shown only during an active shift bidding session and if there are posted, unfilled shifts. See the following topics:

Added the ability to edit unfilled shifts that were already posted in Dayforce. Previously, users couldn’t edit unfilled shifts that had been posted in Schedules and Centralized Schedules. Now, with the appropriate configuration, managers can edit shift details for unfilled shifts after they’ve been posted. To support this update, the Edit Posted Unfilled Shifts client property was added. This client property is located in System Admin > Client Properties in the Properties tab, in the Scheduling section. Important: You can edit posted, unfilled shifts only in the segment editor in scheduling features. In Centralized Schedules, the segment editor is enabled by default. To use the segment editor in Schedules, you need access to the Schedules > Enable Segment Display role feature in System Admin > Roles in the Features tab. After you enable this client property, the edit icon ( Also, if this client property is enabled, Dayforce temporarily locks shifts in the schedule after they’ve been awarded to employees so that the shifts can’t be edited. When you save your changes, the shifts are unlocked. See the following topics in the Manager Guide:
