Added the ability to set up Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a third party payee so that you can pay all withheld PAYG tax from employees.

With this update, in Payroll Setup > Third Party Payees, when you select Australia in the Operating Country drop-down list, you can select the Australian Taxation Office option in the Payee Category drop-down list of the Payees tab. Note the following enhancements:

  • Added the Legal Entity drop-down list as an option to assign the legal entity to the third-party payee.
  • Dayforce validates the Lodgement reference number against individual active third party payees with the same legal entity.
  • You only need to set up one payee with the Australian Taxation Office category.
  • Third party payees with the Australia operating country doesn’t require you to select the Payment Frequency, Schedule Start Date, and Schedule Pay Date fields.

Additionally, you must update the Australian legal entity’s tax reference number in Org Set-up > Org Payroll Set-up > Legal Entity. In the Taxation Parameters tab, enter the lodgement reference number in the PAYG Employer Reference Number field.

See Third Party Payee Configuration in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
