Version
R2025.1.0

HR-20568, HR-35699

Refreshed and updated the user interface for the business unit hierarchy in Organization Designer > Business Units. The new look and feel aligns with the design of other refreshed screens in Dayforce, and it improves accessibility for all users. The functionality is the same as before, with some small changes that are noted below.

The following screenshots show how the hierarchy has changed:

Note: This update is available only in the new Organization Designer user interface, which is enabled using the Enable New Organization Designer UI client property.

The changes include the following:

  • The Rollup Information section is collapsed by default. Click the arrow to expand it and see the number of positions, and percentage of filled and vacant positions.
  • Click Add Business Unit to add another business unit under the selected one. This button with text replaces the previous version, which contained only a plus sign.
  • Improved messages are shown when the business unit import and export finish running.
  • When you change the as of date in the Organization Designer > Business Units screen and you have unsaved changes, Dayforce prompts you to confirm that if you continue, you’ll lose your changes.
  • The Localize section is now in the Information tab of the business unit panel. You now have to click the save button at the top left of the screen to save localization changes. To add a localization for the name and description of a business unit, click Add Translation in the Localize section of the business unit panel.

HR-29476

Added the ability for managers to update a position’s manager to a position that’s outside of their span of control. To support this functionality, you can now update a position’s manager in the position panel. Previously, you could only drag a position to its new location in the hierarchy and, as a result, you could only move it to be under other positions that you also have access to.

Note: You must also use the new edit mode functionality to provide users with access to editing the Manager field in the position panel. See HR-20442.
