Introducing Improved Recruiter Experience

Dayforce Release Notes version 2025.1.0

Version
R2025.1.0

The Improved Recruiter Experience helps recruiters find and hire top talent more efficiently. This experience is available to all Dayforce customers when their environment is upgraded.

Start Using the Improved Recruiting Experience

After the environment is upgraded, you continue to see the classic recruiting experience as before. You can start using the new experience by clicking Upgrade to New Recruiting in the Recruiting navigation panel.

You can switch back and forth between the two experiences. The button name changes to Stop Using New Recruiting in the new experience. Click this button at any time to switch back. When you switch back, you can give feedback about the new experience.

Note: If you start using the Improved Recruiting Experience and then go back to the Classic Recruiting Experience, you no longer can access the improved Candidate Management (New).

Design Goals

We designed the Improved Recruiting Experience with the following goals in mind:

More intuitive interface: The interface is easier to understand and more user-friendly. For example, we removed indicators and other icons that were hard to differentiate from each other. Breadcrumbs on every screen help you navigate back to where you came from.

Improved workflow: More search options improve how you find and view candidate information. A split candidate screen helps you keep track of the list of candidates when browsing the details for each one. Performance is improved with faster load time so that you can review candidates and job requisitions more quickly.

Accessibility: We conform more rigorously to accessibility standards. The interface offers more explanatory text, more messages when needed, more navigation tools, and a simpler design.

Improved performance: We aim to provide faster loading time and better overall performance.

Improved mobile experience: All redesigned screens are compatible with mobile devices.

General New Features

These new features are available when viewing both job requisition lists and candidate lists:

Improved search: Candidate search options are enhanced, with Boolean logic, resume search, and searches for location, phone number, and email. The improved search replaces Quick Search.

Improved filtering: A more intuitive filtering interface makes it easier to tailor your lists of job requisitions and candidates. Click Filter to open a side panel with tailored user controls to help you focus on the type of information you're looking for. You can save your filters for later use.

Custom view: A more intuitive custom view panel makes it easier to customize the columns you see. Click Custom View to open a side panel that replaces the default Dayforce View panel. If you're viewing a list of candidates, you can also customize the order of actions in the action bar. To customize columns, select the ones you want in your view. The ones you don’t select are moved to the bottom of the panel for later retrieval. Use the arrows to change the order. When finished, click Apply.

Recruiter Insights

Recruiter Insights is a new landing page in Recruiting where you can quickly identify your recruiting priorities for the day and check your lists of job requisitions and candidates. This screen is shown when you open Recruiting, and you can go to it at any time from Recruiting > Recruiter Insights.

Role feature access: Recruiting > Recruiting > Recruiter Insights

By default, you can see the information for only the job requisitions you're assigned to as a recruiter. To see information for all of the requisitions that you have access to, click All.

The Recruiter Insights screen has two main sections. The first shows the status of pending interviews, offer letters, and candidate hiring. Tiles show you how many candidates are in the various stages of the recruiting workflow. Tiles are grayed out if there are no candidates at that stage or if you don't have access to that role feature.

If you have the role feature authorization to see these candidates, you can click the View Candidates link in each tile to review the list of candidates at that stage of the workflow. The candidates are listed in the side panel. If there are many candidates, you can filter them by job requisition, sort them by date, or click Show more candidates at the bottom of the panel to keep expanding the list. Click a candidate's name to go to their profile and see more details about their application.

The bottom section of the Recruiter Insights screen shows a grid of open job requisitions. The columns show key information, such as the location, hiring manager, days open, and any actions required. Select any job requisition link to see details for that requisition. The list of job requisitions varies depending on the switch at the top of the screen. If you select My requisitions, you see only those requisitions that you're recruiting for. If you select All, you see all of the requisitions you have access to.

Candidates need access to the new Recruiting > Recruiting > Recruiter Insights role feature to use this new feature. If they already have access to the Recruiting > Recruiting > Overview role feature, they are granted this access automatically.

Job Requisitions Screen

The new job requisitions screen has a more intuitive interface that's easier to navigate and more accessible. It has faster performance so you can access data more quickly. We’ve added new search functionality and filters to help you quickly find the right candidates.

Actions in the Job Requisitions screen are rearranged, and some spill off the toolbar into the more menu.

Click any job requisition title to go to the Job Requisition Details screen, where you can work with the requisition's candidates, status, and other attributes.

To go to this screen, select Recruiting > Job Requisitions as you did before. You can also go to this screen in Recruiting > Recruiter Insights when you click See open requisitions.

Job Requisition Candidates Tab

The Candidates tab is redesigned to be more intuitive and functional, with more readable columns that provide details tailored to each job application. We’ve added new search functionality and filters to help you quickly locate the right candidates.

Candidates who are disqualified (because they were declined or ineligible) are now listed in a separate tab. The Disqualified tab has its own filters, including a new filter for the disqualification reason. With the removal of disqualified candidates, you can focus your search more directly on eligible candidates.

We improved navigation by introducing breadcrumbs to show your path, making it easy to return to sort through and view many candidates quickly. When you select a candidate, their information is shown in a split screen so you can still see the list of candidates.

Key actions are listed above this tab, with additional actions in the More menu. The actions change depending on which candidates are selected. To reorder these actions so the ones that you use most often are listed first in the toolbar, use Custom View.

To access this tab, click a job requisition link from either Recruiting > Job Requisitions or Recruiting > Recruiter Insights. By default, the job requisition opens showing the Candidates tab.

Candidate Profiles

The interface for candidate profile information is designed to make it easier to review candidates and interact with them.

Better performance: Load performance is improved so that you can quickly navigate through many candidates.

Candidate status at a glance: The candidate's status is shown at the top of their profile. It's color-coded for easy recognition. For example, New is blue, Hired is green, and Do Not Hire is gray.

Rearranged tabs: The tabs to view candidate details are slightly rearranged to the following order: Documents, Candidate Info, Scoring, Jobs Applied For, Communications. The Candidate Info tab always opens with the candidate's resume under Documents. Candidate actions are moved from the left navigation panel to the top of the candidate profile. Click More in the upper right corner to find additional actions. The Jobs Applied For and Communications tabs aren’t yet updated to the Improved Recruiter Experience design.

Candidate Summary: The Candidate Info tab provides a generated summary of key information for the candidate, along with their recent experience and education, location, and skills. You see this summary first, at the top of the panel.

Refreshed editing interface: The redesigned interface in the Candidate Info tab makes it easier to enter candidate information. The controls are more visually appealing and tailored to different types of information. The same user authorization is required to delete or update this information as with the original interface. When you edit or add a new section, you can update the fields from the side panel. The fields and controls are uniquely designed for each type of information. If you have authorization, you can click the More icon beside each section to edit or delete it, or click Add to add a new section.

You can access a candidate’s information for each of their applications from Recruiting > Recruiter Insights or Recruiting > Job Requisitions. To see their full candidate profile, go to Recruiting > Candidate Management.

Candidate Management

Candidate Management (New), the improved experience for Candidate Management, was introduced in the 2024.1.0 Dayforce release. The Improved Recruiting Experience provides the following enhancements to this version of Candidate Management:

  • You can work with candidates from the new candidate profile screen. See Candidate Profiles above.
  • You can pin candidates and view them in the left navigation menu under Candidate Management. To pin a candidate, go to their candidate profile and select More > Pin Candidate.

Deprecations

The following menu items aren’t in the Recruiting navigation panel for the Improved Recruiter Experience because their features are handled differently:

  • Overview. You can use the new Recruiter Insights screen to focus on day-to-day recruiting tasks. To create the metrics that were provided by the Overview feature, use Reporting and Analytics > Reporting and Reporting and Analytics > Dashboards.
  • Quick Search. You now have better search options in individual screens in Recruiting, including Boolean logic. You can now search for content from resumes, locations, phone numbers, and email addresses.
  • Talent Community. You can go to Talent Community features and actions in the new Candidate Management.
  • The Indicators column in job requisitions and candidate lists. New columns capture some of the indicator categories, and some categories are moved to the candidate profile. For example, you can find grades under the candidates’ Scoring tab. Instead of indicators, you can use filters to narrow the list to see only entries that meet certain criteria. You can also sort columns to see particular attributes in a group. Select Custom View to tailor the columns on the screen to the attributes you use most.

What's Next

The new Improved Recruiter Experience design isn’t applied yet to every screen in Recruiting. For example, we still need to update the following screens:

  • Recruiting > Talent Pools.
  • The Details and Postings tabs for job requisitions.
  • The Jobs Applied For and Communications tabs for candidate profiles.
