Updated Dayforce with a new system-calculated parameter for expression calculations that checks when a pay period crosses the calendar year end. The new option Pay Period Crosses Year End is added in Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions. To view the new option, the earning or deduction must have Generated selected on the General tab, and on the Parameters tab, the Calculation Type must be set to Expression. In the Expression section, under the Calculated Parameters section, when you select System in the Type column drop-down list, the option Pay Period Crosses Year End becomes available in the Type Value column drop-down list. Dayforce is also updated with new system-calculated parameters that work with the option Pay Period Crosses Year End. When a pay period crosses the calendar year end, system-calculated parameters are needed to return the number of business days for the year in which the pay period started, as well as the number of business days for the year in which the pay period ends, to ensure prorated calculation. These options are also located in the same location as the Pay Period Crosses Year End option. The options are:

The new option Election Covers Entire Pay Period is a Boolean (0 or 1) parameter that returns 1 (yes) if the payroll election effective dates cover the entire pay period or 0 (no) if the payroll election effective dates don’t cover the entire pay period. This option was added in Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions.
