Added a new super contribution type for your employees’ post tax super contributions. Payroll administrators can configure employee superannuation in one place in the Payroll > Superannuation screen in People. This update includes the following enhancements:

Update to Superannuation contribution type options

In the Payroll > Superannuation screen in People, in the Superannuation contribution funds section, added the new option, P-Post tax voluntary super contribution, to the Superannuation Contribution Type dropdown list.

Automatically create Payroll elections for post tax super contributions

When you add or update the post tax superannuation contributions in the Superannuation screen, Dayforce automatically updates the employee’s payroll election records in the Payroll > Payroll Elections screen in People by applying the new system deduction code.

New system deduction code

Added the Employee Voluntary Superannuation – Post tax system deduction code for employee post tax super contributions in Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions in the Deductions tab.

Pay run calculations in Payroll

Updated payroll calculations for post tax superannuation contributions that use the new deduction code configured as a payroll election, such as in the following cases:

  • The employee has an effective payroll election record of a post-tax super contribution with the Employee Voluntary Superannuation - Post Tax system code and the Amount option selected in the Calculation type drop-down list, and the Apply Deduction Rule in the Payroll Policy has not excluded the system code. When you calculate the pay run for the employee, the preview shows a line item of this deduction in Payroll > Pay Run Management with the exact amount.
  • The employee has an effective payroll election record of a post-tax super contribution with the Employee Voluntary Superannuation - Post Tax system code and the Percentage option selected in the Calculation type drop-down list, and the Apply Deduction Rule in the Payroll Policy has not excluded the system code. When you calculate the pay run for the employee, the preview shows a line item of this deduction in Payroll > Pay Run Management with the amount equal to the percentage x gross earnings.
