Dayforce Release Notes version 2024.2.1

Version
R2024.2.1

APJ-3499, APJ-3532

Added the ability to control the minimum number of minutes a form application can be. To support this update, the Minimum Duration field was added to Pay Setup > WFM Form Config. Note that this feature applies only to the Overtime Application form and the Certificate of Attendance form.

See WFM Form Config in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WCI-48122, WFM-48122

Added the ability to calculate the employer's tip credit deduction based on an employee's cash tips and worked hours. To support this functionality, the following updates were made:

  • Added the Maximum Tip Credit field in Pay Setup > Minimum Wages.
  • Added the Tip Credit Processing Rule in Pay Setup > Pay Policy.

The rule calculates the deduction for the tip credit by comparing the amount entered in the Maximum Tip Credit field against the amount of tips earned per hour worked. When an employee makes enough in cash tips for the employer to claim the maximum tip credit, the maximum tip credit can be claimed per hour worked.

See Tip Credit Processing Rule in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WCI-48771, WFM-48771

Updated the Employee Qualifier to include primary residential addresses configured in the Addresses section, in the Personal > Contact Information screen of People. With this update, the qualifier considers the date an employee's primary address is effective from. To support this feature, the following updates were made to the Employee Qualifier in Pay Setup > Pay Policy:

  • Renamed the Include Primary Work Zip/Postal Code setting to Include Primary Taxation Work Zip/Postal Code (At the end of the pay period).
  • Renamed the Exclude Primary Work Zip/Postal Code setting to Exclude Primary Taxation Work Zip/Postal Code (At the end of the pay period).
  • Added the Include Primary Address Zip/Postal Code and Exclude Primary Address Zip/Postal Code settings.

See Employee Qualifier in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WCI-49178, WFM-49178

Before you begin: This feature is available only for organizations in the United Kingdom.

Updated the Use full period to determine SSP checkbox in the SSP Eligibility Qualifier in Pay Setup > Pay Policy. From this release onwards, this checkbox is greyed out and can no longer be edited. For new instances of the qualifier, it's selected by default.

Important: Be careful when copying old instances of this qualifier. If this checkbox isn't selected in an old instance, it remains cleared in the new copy of the qualifier. Therefore, it's highly recommended that you don't copy old rules where this checkbox isn't selected. If you want to setup this qualifier with this checkbox cleared or want to edit past rules, you need to contact support.

See SSP Eligibility Qualifier in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WCI-51666, WFM-51666

Added the ability to enter six interval thresholds in the Partial Hours Rule in Pay Setup > Pay Policy. Previously, you could only enter five interval thresholds. Now, the Interval Threshold 6 setting has been added to the rule to support users who want to set up 12 minute intervals within an hour.

See Partial Hours Rule in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WFM-39180

Added the ability to qualify employees based on the state or province that they work in. To support this functionality, the following settings were added to the Employee Qualifier in Pay Setup > Pay Policy:

  • Eligible Work State/Province
  • Ineligible Work State/Province

See Employee Qualifier in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WFM-40334, WFM-40337

Added the ability to extend the lookback period by the number of weeks of Leave Without Pay (LWOP) found in the lookback period. This ensures that the lookback period is based on the number of worked periods, not elapsed time. Additionally, added the ability to define what counts as an unworked week. To support this update, the following settings were added to the Prorate Payroll Earning Rule in Pay Setup > Entitlements:

  • Extend lookback period by unworked weeks
  • Extend lookback recurrence limit
  • Unworked weeks definition

See Prorate Payroll Earning Rule in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

To support this functionality, the Stop Lookback at Most Recent Hire Date setting was added to both rules.

WFM-51237

Added the ability to configure a divisor unit in the Prorate Payroll Earnings Rule in Pay Setup > Entitlements. Additionally, added the ability to select which worked day pay codes should or shouldn't be included when looking at the divisor unit of worked days. To support this functionality, the following settings were added:

  • Divisor unit
  • Worked Days Pay Codes Eligible
  • Worked Days Pay Codes Ineligible

See Prorate Payroll Earning Rule in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

WFM-66842

Fixed an issue in the Accumulation Rule in Pay Setup > Job Rate in the Job Step Policy tab. When using the Months Of Service option in the Step value type drop-down list, an additional job step value was incorrectly being awarded on the first day of the job step rate in either of the two following situations:

  • The Prioritize step value start date over work assignment date checkbox was cleared.
  • The Prioritize step value start date over work assignment date checkbox was selected and a manual transaction was added on the first day of the job step rate with a value other than zero.

To resolve this issue, the Award Step Values After 1 Month of Service setting was added to the rule. When selected, the rule awards step values strictly after a month even if there are manual transactions when the Months Of Service option is selected in the Step value type drop-down list.

See Accumulation Rule in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
