Added the ability to enable STP submissions for legal entities without nominating a parent entity.

Previously in Dayforce, you had to choose one parent legal entity when you had multiple legal entities on the same environment. Now, not only can you process payroll and STP submissions without nominating a parent legal entity, you can also process payroll with many legal entities whether they are in the same pay run or not.

This enhancement includes the following updates:

Configure legal entity information reported in STP independently when the intermediary or registered agent is not applicable

For STP reporting, the STP Parameters tab in Org Setup > Org Payroll Setup > Legal Entity has a new section called Payroll Is Run By. In the new section, you can set up a legal entity for an individual entity inside the same corporate or economic group for an employee.

The Payroll is Run By section where you can configure legal entity information independent of a parent entity

Ensure STP reporting uses appropriate information indicated on the legal entity

Even when there are complex settings where multiple legal entities have mixed payroll types (such as employee, business intermediary and registered agents), STP reporting uses the appropriate legal entity information as indicated in the Payroll Is Run By section.

Declare and authorise STP submissions for the employee, business intermediary, and registered agent

This update ensures compliance with the latest guidelines from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) when you commit a pay run using the STP Declaration & Authorisation dialog box. Dayforce recognises all possible combinations of payroll types (employee, business intermediary and registered agent) and shows the corresponding messages. To accept this declaration, select the Authorisation checkbox in the STP Declaration & Authorisation dialog box and click OK.

GPTCI-51592

Added the ability to use alternative contact information in STP when there is a parent legal entity. With this update, added the Use alternative intermediary/registered agent contact info checkbox so that you can add alternative contact information for a child’s legal entity and report it to STP. In Org Setup > Org Payroll Setup > Legal Entity, in the STP Parameters tab, when you select the Use default parent legal entity or Use another parent legal entity options, you can select the Use alternative intermediary/registered agent contact info checkbox so that ATO has the right contact information.

When you select the Use alternative intermediary/registered agent contact info checkbox, you must enter the following information:

  • Alternative intermediary/registered agent contact name
  • Alternative intermediary/registered agent email address
  • Alternative Intermediary/Registered Agent Business Telephone Number

For more information, see STP Parameters Tab in the Payroll Administrator Guide.
