Dayforce Release Notes version 2024.1.0

Version
R2024.1.0
Release Date

Organization Designer
ID Description
AOM-570

Added the ability to specify an end date for an interim position occupancy when the interim position is the employee's primary assignment. You can use this functionality to add an interim occupant to a position when you know the date that the usual occupant will return. Previously, you couldn't add an end date to an interim occupancy if the Is this the primary position? checkbox was selected because primary assignments usually can't have end dates.

When you add an interim occupant to a position as their primary assignment, the Effective To field is now editable. When you add an end date to an interim occupancy that is the employee's primary assignment, Dayforce adds a new primary assignment for their previous position starting the day after the end date. After completing their time in the interim position, the employee goes back to their original position.

AOM-3530

Added the ability to convert an employee's interim occupancy in a position into primary occupancy, and to revert them back to an interim occupant. With this update, you can assign an employee to perform a position's duties while your organization recruits and trains the new employee who will be the primary occupant.

To support this functionality, when an employee is assigned as an interim occupant to a position that doesn't have a primary occupant, the new Convert button is shown in the Occupants tab in Organization Designer:

The Convert button is located under the employee's name and picture.

Click Convert to open the Convert Interim Occupant dialog box where you configure effective dates, change reason, and primary assignment and location details.

After an employee has been converted from an interim occupant to a primary one, the Revert to Previous Position button is shown. Clicking the button works differently depending on whether the employee's interim position assignment was primary or non-primary:

  • If the employee was converted from an interim primary position assignment, they go back to being the interim occupant of the same position.
  • If the employee was converted from an interim non-primary position assignment, they go back to their previous primary position assignment. In other words, they return to the position they were in before the interim assignment. If you want to revert this employee back to the non-primary interim position, you need to first revert them back to their previous position and then re-assign them as an interim occupant to the position.

Also as part of this enhancement, you can now assign an interim occupant to an unoccupied position. In the Occupants tab, the new Assign Interim Occupant switch was added. Toggle the switch to change between assigning an interim occupant and assigning a primary occupant:

The Assign Interim Occupant switch is located under the employee's profile image.
