PAYR-376

Added a new pay group option, Employee Payroll Election Change, in the Include in Publish Events drop-down list in Pay Setup > Pay Group in the Payroll Properties tab. This option controls if the PayrollElectionChange event is generated when an employee's payroll election has been published using the Payroll Import feature. This update eliminates the need for an administrator to manually monitor and trigger the process.

Important: Note that the PayrollElectionChange is different from the EmployeePayrollElection event. These events can be configured to run together, but the recommended approach is to configure one or the other.

The following are characteristics of PayrollElectionChange events:

  • An event is triggered only when a payroll election record is published from the Payroll Import feature, not when payroll election event records are created, approved, or rejected
  • An event is triggered when a user publishes one or more selected payroll election records from Payroll Import, including when one or more payroll election records are based on filter criteria from Payroll Import
  • An event can handle mass publishes from Payroll Import, which is typically done based on filter criteria
  • A PayrollElectionChange event can be generated independently, whether the EmployeePayrollElection is configured to generate or not. Dayforce publishes the event that corresponds with what you have selected in the Include in Publish Events field: EmployeePayrollElection, or PayrollElectionChange, or both

This election-level event applies to payroll elections changed by the UI, API, and XML import methods.

To set up a payroll subscription for the PayrollElectionChange event, go to HCM Anywhere > Event Driven Services > Event Subscription then go to Subscriptions > Payroll and select the relevant child nodes under PayrollElectionChange.
