Introducing Career Explorer

Added the Careers > Career Explorer feature to Dayforce, which empowers employees to explore potential next steps for their career. Career Explorer helps take the guesswork out of career planning and employee development and provides leaders with the insights needed to attract, engage, retain, and inspire their workforce. Career Explorer uses your organization’s internal talent data along with standardized skills and proficiencies to provide employees with personalized career recommendations.

For each recommendation, the feature provides an analysis of the required skills, identifying which skills the employee already has and which skills the employee might need to work on. Employees can create career plans based on these personalized recommendations and can add skills and activities to track the specific tasks that they need to succeed. If your organization uses Dayforce Learning, employees can also add courses or learning plans to their career plan activities to help advance progress towards their goals.

For more information about the employee experience, see "Career Explorer" in the Employee Guide.

Managers also have access to these career plans and can view and edit the plans created by their employees from the Team plans tab in Development Plans. This access provides managers with the opportunity to encourage and advise their employees on meeting their career goals.

For more information about the manager experience, see "Career Explorer Management" in the Manager Guide.

Configuration

Before You Begin: The Career Explorer functionality is available only to customers who have purchased the Career Explorer add-on for Dayforce. Please contact your Ceridian representative if you'd like to purchase and add this feature to your Talent Management package.

For configuration and administration information for Career Explorer, including information about role feature access, notifications, background jobs, and available reports, see "Career Explorer Configuration" in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

Note: Career Explorer uses the European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations (ESCO) system to track skills and make recommendations. Adding custom skills and proficiency levels is not supported.
