1190300	Added the ability to preview images and documents without downloading a copy of the file, which saves time and reduces replication. Previously, users had to download files to view them. Now, users can preview files in various areas in Dayforce where documents are available, for example: Documents > Document Explorer Message Center Employee Card HR Admin > HR Policies Enable Document Preview Document preview is not enabled by default. To enable, select Enable Document Preview in the General section of System Admin > Client Properties > Properties. Configure User Role Permissions to Preview or Download for Document Types In Documents > Admin > Document Types, administrators can configure preview and download permissions for each document type, for each user role. Previously, read access for a file type meant that users could download those files. Now, preview and download permissions are separate. This allows administrators to grant preview access without allowing users to download certain types of documents, as may be required for compliance purposes. Note: Users who had read permission for a document type will have both preview and download permission enabled by default, when Document Preview is enabled for the first time. File Types and Sizes Currently supported file types are PDF, Word (DOC and DOCX), and image files such as JPG, PNG, and so on. Excel and other file formats are not supported by the preview feature yet. If a document type allows an unsupported file type, and if only preview is enabled, a user trying to preview the file will receive an error. Files under 3 MB can render quickly in the previewer, while larger files can take longer. If downloading is enabled for your user role for the file type that is delayed, you can choose to download the file without waiting for the preview to complete. Preview a File To preview a file, click the file name hyperlink. Depending on which Dayforce feature you're using, the preview will open as a dialog box or a slide-out panel. Note: If preview isn't enabled for your role for this file type, but downloading is allowed, the file will download without first opening the preview. In the preview, you can zoom in or out, expand the preview area, and expand the file to fill the preview area. If enabled, you can also download the file. In some Dayforce features, you can select other files to preview from the list at the top of the preview area.

Enable Document Preview

Document preview is not enabled by default. To enable, select Enable Document Preview in the General section of System Admin > Client Properties > Properties.
