Enhanced Validations

Canada and USA phone numbers validated for greater accuracy

  • Activate has stricter validation on USA and CAN phone numbers to bring it in line with validation being done at the Dayforce import level.
    • Area Code validation: Activate validates the first three numbers (1–3) of the provided phone number are a valid US/CAN area code.
    • Dialing Prefix validation: Activate validates the next three digits (4–6) of the provided phone number are a valid dialing prefix code.
    • If either of the above validations fail, an ERROR is generated. Dayforce rejects bad phone number data, which results in a failure to load the data.
    • New message for Area Code validation: The provided number does not have a valid Area Code.
    • New message for Prefix validation: The provided number does not have a valid Prefix.
  • No changes have been made to validations outside of the USA or Canada.

Employee First and Last Name data integrity validation combined

Activate has refined the validation of uploaded employee name data against employees already in Dayforce.

  • This validation continues to be a data integrity check between Employee Numbers and Employee Names in Dayforce and new Employee data being loaded through the Activate wizards.
  • These validations are combined into a single validation with an error message that now suggests the user check course data to make sure that what’s being loaded is for the correct employee.
  • Failing the above validation results in an ERROR.
    • New message: The first and last name do not match this employee identifier in Dayforce which may indicate the data is being loaded incorrectly. Check that the source data is intended for employee identifier.

Minimum Age for New Hires Validation

A new validation that checks the Employee age against the Minimum age for new hires client property has been added.

  • This validation has been added to the Getting Started and Employees wizards, where employee data is loaded alongside Birth Date.
  • Activate derives the employees age using provided birth date.
  • Failing the above validation results in a WARNING.
    • New message: The Employee does not meet the minimum age requirements as defined by the Dayforce Client Property, Minimum age for new hires.

Pennsylvania PO Box and Rural Route Address Validation

Activate now prevents the load of PO Box and Rural Route addresses for Pennsylvania employees' primary residence or mailing address types.

  • This validation brings Activate in line with recent changes to Dayforce validation.
  • Failing the above validation results in an ERROR.
    • New message: State [Pennsylvania] - PO Box or Rural Route addresses cannot be used for Address Types Primary Residence or Mailing.

National ID (such as SSN/SIN) Validation Tied to “Enable SSN Validaton” Client Property

Activate now supports the loading of duplicate National Ids when the Enable SSN Validation client property is turned off in Dayforce.

  • This changes was made possible by changing the existing validations from an ERROR to a WARNING.
    • Validation: The value must be unique in the file
    • Message: The value must be unique in the file.
  • This validation is triggered when two employees in the uploaded template share a National Id.
  • Two employees can’t have the same National IDs (SSN, PPSN, TFN, IRD, and so on.)
    • Message: Employee <Employee Number> has the same National Id as the employee(s) <Employee Number(s)>. Please validate your data.
    • This validation is triggered when an employee in the uploaded template shares a National ID with an employee already in Dayforce.
  • These warning messages will continue to show in the grid review screens. Users can click the download error files button to review and make sure that this validation has been turned off intentionally.
