Dayforce 2024.2.1 introduced a new option to the employee’s Superannuation screen & AUS Super Import to support post-tax voluntary super contributions.
With this Activate release, the Superannuation Data for Australian Employees wizard has been updated to include the new Post Voluntary option in the Contribution Type field. As with other existing Contribution Type options, the data load with Activate creates both the employee’s new Superannuation record and its associated Payroll Election record. The data template instructions have been updated with details on all options:
Validation has also been updated for records with a Choice Fund Type of Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF). Previously, the USI (Unique Super Identifier) field was mandatory for all records. This caused some confusion for SMSFs because they don’t have a USI.
The USI field is now treated as optional for SMSFs and Activate ignores it if populated. The USI is still required for all other Choice Fund Types. The data template instructions have been updated accordingly:
Before loading employee Superannuation data in Dayforce, Activate checks to identify if a Third Party Payee already exists for each employee’s Super Fund, or if any new payees need to be created during the data load. The criteria for this check previously used ABN & USI. It has been updated to include the Choice Fund Type. USI has been removed from checks for SMSFs.
Choice Fund Type | Check Logic for Existing Payee | Reference Code for New Payees |
---|---|---|
Employee Nominated APRA Fund |
Choice Fund Type, ABN & USI |
<PAYEE_NAME>_APRA_<USI> |
Employee Nominated Default Fund |
Choice Fund Type, ABN & USI |
<PAYEE_NAME>_DFLT_<USI> |
Self-Managed Super Fund |
Choice Fund Type, ABN |
<PAYEE_NAME>_SMSF_<ABN> |
These changes enable the introduction of a new validation in the Activate grid. A warning message now shows when multiple Third Party Payees exist with the same ABN, USI, and Choice Fund Type that match the details of a record. This message lists the name of the payee to be applied to the employees to help identify if additional changes might be required before or after the data load.
