Our Payroll implementation team has clarified that the current company ID validation, which expects the MBNZ (13 digits) number, is not commonly used in New Zealand implementations, because not all organizations are mandated to possess one. Instead, the essential ID utilized across all NZ implementations is the IRD (9 digits), mandated for tax purposes, and effectively serves as the company ID. With the existing Activate validation (expecting MBNZ number), users had to pad the number with zeros, followed by manual removal in Dayforce to overcome this restriction.
The Dayforce product team is actively working on introducing extended fields to accommodate both MBNZ and IRD numbers in Dayforce. Meanwhile, Activate is changing this validation to align with Dayforce standard restrictions of up to 20 digits. We anticipate further enhancements to be introduced when additional fields are provided by Dayforce to facilitate distinct validations for both types of numbers.
