In addition to displaying errors when mandatory fields are left blank, the form can also return the following validation errors:
- An error is displayed if users enter a date before the current date. Only current or future dated requests are allowed.
- For payroll election request forms, an error is returned if the deduction selected doesn't support the Percent or Amount option selected from the Amount/Percent field. For example, an error is displayed if users select Percent from the Amount/Percent field but the deduction only allows flat amounts to be entered based on the calculation parameters defined in the Deductions tab in Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions.
- An error is displayed if users try to cancel a deduction that they don't have an active payroll election for.
- If a payroll election request form is configured not to allow new payroll elections, an error is displayed when users select a deduction that they don't have an active payroll election for. The error indicates that an active payroll election cannot be found. See Disable New Elections.
