Form Builder contains two main categories of forms: system forms and custom forms. The biggest difference between these categories is that system forms are non-editable forms published by Dayforce and custom forms are forms you can create, edit, and modify to your own preferences.
Each of these categories can contain both complex forms and XML forms. A complex form is a workflow form with a non-standard layout or business logic that can’t be written using XML. Complex forms have the IsComplexForm checkbox selected in the Properties tab of Form Builder. The XML and Preview tabs are inactive for complex forms. Complex forms use the same underlying framework as XML forms, so they must be assigned to a feature group and be associated with a workflow. Examples of system complex forms include the Direct Deposit form, Emergency Contacts form, and Time Off Request form.
XML forms are built using XML. You can create new XML forms in Form Builder. This guide contains information about how to configure and use XML forms in Dayforce. Examples of system XML forms include the Address form, Name and Marital Status form, New Hire form, and Rehire form.
