The Worked Next Shift Qualifier restricts an associated rule so that it examines or impact shifts only if the employee worked their next scheduled shift. You could use the qualifier with a daily overtime rule so that employees can earn overtime on a shift only if they also work their next scheduled shift. With this configuration, if the employee doesn’t record any work on their next shift, they don’t earn overtime. Using the qualifier’s settings, you configure what is considered eligible work.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Number of days to look ahead | The number of days Dayforce ahead for the employee’s next scheduled shift, when determining if the employee worked their next shift. If the employee didn’t have a scheduled shift within the specified number of days of the current shift, the qualifier passes and the associated rule is applied to the current shift. |
Allow looking ahead beyond the current pay period | Dayforce looks ahead beyond the current pay period for any qualifiers you configured that might affect a pay run. If an employee misses their first shift in a pay period and there was a holiday on the last day of the previous pay period, this checkbox would ensure that they don’t receive holiday pay as they aren’t eligible. Leave blank and the qualifier doesn’t look between pay periods to determine if an employee worked their next shift. |
Include worked on OFF days | Include off days on which the employee worked but wasn’t scheduled, when searching for the next worked shift. |
Include worked on Rest Days | Include rest days on which the employee worked but wasn’t scheduled to, when searching for the next worked shift. |
Pay codes eligible | The pay codes that mark eligible work. When Dayforce examines an employee’s shift, if eligible work occurs on the employee’s next scheduled shift, the associated rule runs. Leave blank and the qualifier doesn’t examine pay codes when determining eligible time. |
Pay codes ineligible | The pay codes that mark ineligible time. When Dayforce examines an employee’s shift, time with an ineligible pay code isn’t considered work. |
Pay categories eligible | The pay categories that mark eligible work. When Dayforce examines an employee’s shift, if eligible work occurs on the employee’s next scheduled shift, the associated rule runs. Leave blank and the qualifier doesn’t examine pay categories when determining eligible time. |
Pay categories ineligible | The pay categories that mark ineligible time. When Dayforce examines an employee’s shift, time with an ineligible pay category isn’t considered work. |
Include shifts worked on current day | Include shifts that are scheduled for the current day in the calculation. |
Reject days with tardy Pay Codes | The pay codes that mark tardy codes that exclude a shift from eligibility. When Dayforce examines an employee’s shift, a shift flagged with an ineligible pay category isn’t counted as an eligible shift. |
Consider pay adjustments as worked times |
Include pay adjustments entered on the employee’s timesheet as worked shifts for the purposes of the calculation. Note: This checkbox considers the pay codes selected in the Pay codes eligible and Pay codes ineligible settings as worked time. The pay categories selected in the Pay categories eligible and Pay categories ineligible settings aren’t recognized by this checkbox. |
|
Include pay adjustments as worked time if they meet the required minutes for early or late clock entries (as specified in the Allowed minutes for late time in entry or Allowed minutes for early time out entry fields). |
Allowed minutes for late time in entry | The maximum amount, in minutes, of time for which employees can clock in late for a shift without penalty. Shifts for which employees clock in late, below this configured threshold, are considered worked for the purposes of the qualifier. |
Allowed minutes for early time out entry | The maximum amount, in minutes, of time for which employees can clock out early for a shift without penalty. Shifts for which employees clock out early, below this configured threshold, are considered worked for the purposes of the qualifier. |
Skip over days with pay adjustments | The pay adjustments that mark ineligible time. When Dayforce examines an employee’s shift, those marked with an ineligible pay adjustment code aren’t considered work. |
Number of minutes worked | The number of minutes that the employee must have worked during their next scheduled shift to qualify for the associated rule. Leave blank and the qualifier doesn’t examine the length of the next shift when it runs. |
