Dayforce can be configured by a Service User to use HCM Anywhere APIs for employee Verification of Income (or VOI). This is done in System Admin > Client Properties, in the Payroll section, by selecting the checkbox for the option Use Verification Services APIs instead of Equifax Payroll Export File.
This client payroll property controls whether employment and income data for US employees is sent to a vendor as a file transmitted by Dayforce Link or returned as an API response from call that a vendor made. The APIs are:
- GET Employee Verification of Employment (VOE)
- GET Employee Verification of Income (VOI)
Information about these APIs is available on the Dayforce Developers Network, https://developers.dayforce.com, in the API Explorer under Payroll > Employee Verification.
When the Use Verification Services API instead of Equifax Payroll Export File client property option is configured for an instance of Dayforce, the Verification Services button is added to the Payroll Data Export feature, as shown in this screenshot:
Entries for Verification Services include only the Configurable Fields tab, and that tab contains only the Pay Type Mapping section.
Before you map the earning groupings, in Payroll Data Export in the Verification Services screen, you must configure the groupings themselves first in Payroll Setup > Groupings in the Earnings Groupings tab. It is recommended as a best practice that you configure the earning groupings for Overtime, Bonus, Commission, and Miscellaneous first, and then categorize all other earnings under the Regular grouping.
After you have configured the earning groupings you require, you can map the following earning groupings in the Pay Type Mapping section:
- Regular
- Overtime
- Bonus
- Commission
- Miscellaneous
You can ignore the other options in the Pay Type Mappings section (shown in the screenshot), because they aren’t applicable to the VOI API.
