Update Review Cycle Configuration

For some changes to review cycles, such as updating the qualifiers that determine employee eligibility, you need to unpublish the cycle, update it, and republish it. However, you can make the following updates without unpublishing the review cycle, up until the first employee review is locked:

  • Update the overall rating scale for the review cycle.
  • In the Sections tab, add or remove sections, update the section weights, and change the rating scales for goals, competencies, development plans, and questions.
  • In the Review Schedules tab, update the start and end dates for the review period. (For periodic reviews, you can change the review period and end dates, but not the assignment date.) After a date change, Dayforce recalculates statuses and changes manager assignments if applicable. It sends notifications to employees if their reviews are now past due because of a date change.
  • In the Peer Reviews tab, add or remove peer reviews and other peer review settings and change review weights.
  • In the Approval Process tab, replace the workflow.

Note: The application recalculates ratings for all reviews if necessary.

After you save any of the changes above, employees will see the review with the change in place. Any responses that employees have already entered are retained when you update the review. However, if you removed a section, employees no longer see it on the review, even if they had already entered a response.

After the first employee review is locked, you can continue to edit certain text fields (such as names, descriptions, and instructions) in the Review Cycles tab. Updates are reflected on all employee reviews regardless of review status.
