Unscheduled Time Rule

Dayforce Implementation Guide

Unscheduled Time Rule

With an Unscheduled Time Rule enabled, the pay rule engine can reallocate employees' pay details preferentially to days of the week where time was worked over schedule, and on these days, to the particular time of day that is unscheduled. It works back from the end of the week, determines if there was time worked over schedule on the business date it's looking at, and if so, allocates overtime to these time periods first.

Settings for the rule
Setting Definition
Pay Codes eligible Select the pay codes to which Dayforce should reallocate pay details. For example, to configure the rule so that it only reallocates pay details to the Work and Training pay codes, select Work and Training.
Pay Codes not eligible Select the pay codes to which Dayforce shouldn’t reallocate pay details. For example, to configure the rule so that it doesn't reallocate pay details to the Sick pay code, select Sick.
Reallocate to premiums

Select this checkbox to configure the rule so that it reallocates the selected pay categories to premiums.

Note: In cases where this rule is being used in conjunction with a pay rule (for example, the Weekly Overtime Rule) that has the Premiums contribute to overtime setting enabled, the Reallocate to premiums setting should also be enabled in this rule.

Identifies certain items in the week that should reduce the effective scheduled time on a given date. For example, using a time away from work premium to reduce the time required on a day before it's considered unscheduled.

For example, an employee books half a day of time away from work, but works a bit longer than required. They were scheduled to work eight hours, but worked six hours of this time and have a four hour vacation premium. In this case, the employee should get two of the scheduled hours targeted for dynamic reallocation.

Exclude Meal Break from scheduled time Specify whether scheduled meals and breaks are included in the amount of scheduled time to be considered each day. Options are: Both, Break, or Meal.
