Some leave requests are limited to employees in the United Kingdom. When you select a UK leave type in the Reason drop-down list in the Leave Management screen of People, Dayforce shows additional fields and sections:
- Adoption
- Maternity
- Overseas Adoption
- Paternity
- Surrogacy
- Parental Bereavement
- Shared Parental Leave
- Neonatal Care Leave
For reasons that include keep in touch (KIT) days, Dayforce shows the number of used and remaining KIT days in the Keep In Touch section. To add a day or range of days, click Add, and select dates in the Effective From and Effective To fields.
Select the Paid checkbox if the day was paid.
When you click Adoption in the Reason drop-down list, Dayforce shows the following additional fields:
- Matching Date
- Placement Date
Dayforce also shows the HR Information section, which includes the following fields:

When you click Maternity in the Reason drop-down list, Dayforce shows the Due Date field.
Note: The date in the Start Date field can be after the date in the Due Date field, up to the end of the Expected Week of Childbirth (EWC). The EWC is defined as the 7 day period that runs from Sunday to Saturday that contains the due date. For example, a start date of December 2, 2024 with a due date of December 1, 2024 is acceptable because it falls within the EWC of December 1 to December 7, 2024.
Dayforce also shows the HR Information section, which includes the following fields:

When you select Shared Parental Leave in the Reason drop-down list in the Leave Details section of the leave record, the section shows the following additional fields:
- Due Date: The date the employee's child is due to be born.
- Leave for Adoption: Indicates whether the request is for adoption.
- Placement Date: The date the child is placed with the employee’s family. Only shown if the leave is for adoption.
- Number of Weeks Available: The number of weeks available to take for shared leave. This number can’t exceed 50 weeks.
- Number of Weeks Taken: The number of weeks already taken for shared leave.

When you select Neonatal Care Leave in the Reason drop-down list in the Leave Details section of the leave record, the section shows the following fields:
- Leave for Adoption: The neonatal care leave is for adoption.
- Placement Date: The date the child is placed with the employee’s family. Only shown if the leave is for adoption.
- Estimated Return Date: A read-only field that shows N/A because the return date isn’t needed for this type of leave.
