Time Entry Exceptions

The Time Entry Exceptions notification informs users when time entry exceptions occur at their location. Time entry exceptions can occur for a variety of reasons, such as an employee clocking in for work late. If you manage multiple locations, a time entry exception at any location triggers the notification.

The notification shows the name of the employee whose time entry triggered the alert, what type of exception occurred, and when it occurred.

The following conditions must be met for Dayforce to send the Time Entry Exceptions notification:

  • The Use Tardy Rule checkbox must be cleared. This setting is located in System Admin > Client Properties in the Properties tab, in the Time and Attendance section.
  • The Tardy Rules Enabled checkbox must be selected. This setting is located in Pay SetupTime Entry Policy in the Tardy Rules tab.
  • You must enter a value higher than zero in at least one of the exception setting fields Pay SetupTime Entry Policy in the Main tab, in the Grace/Exception section.
