The Supplemental Earnings Statement Section

You can configure US and Canadian pay groups to show a Supplemental Earnings Statement section at the bottom of the earning statements. The section is used to itemize earnings and hours worked by project or workweek. For Canadian pay groups, any retroactive earnings are also show in the Supplemental Earnings Statement section.

To enable this feature for the pay group, in Pay Setup > Pay Group in the Payroll Properties tab in the Net Pay Setup section, select an option in the Earning Statement Detail drop-down list. For more information about the Earning Statement Detail drop-down list, see Configure Pay Group Payroll Properties.

For example, when you select the Weekly option, the earning statement shows earnings by workweek.

In the above screenshot, an employee is in a semimonthly pay group with a pay period that starts on 5/16/2017 and ends on 5/31/2017. The pay period spans three weeks, as shown here:

  • Week 1 - Tue to Fri - 16-19
  • Week 2 - Mon to Fri - 22-26
  • Week 3 - Mon to Wed - 29-31

Dayforce shows one line per earning per week and separate lines for each earning code. For example, the above screenshot lists three lines for Regular earnings and two lines for Overtime earnings.

When the pay run starts in the middle of the week, the start date of the pay run is shown in Begin Date. When the pay run ends in the middle of the week, the end date of the pay run is shown in End Date.

For employees who are paid using Auto Pay, the start and end dates match the pay period. When there are additional earnings (such as quick entries) with no defined business date and the same earning code, they’re combined with the auto pay earnings in the same line. For example, the following screenshot shows 80 hours of auto pay earnings combined with 8 hours of additional earnings in one line under the Regular earning code.
