In the Groups tab of Vacation Bidding Setup, you create vacation bidding groups and assign them the calendar and notification records you configured in the Calendars and Notifications tabs:
Assigning calendars and notifications to a vacation bidding group dictates when vacation bidding sessions take place and when employees receive notifications about bid sessions and the status of their bid requests.
The left side panel shows all of the vacation bidding groups that are configured for your organization. To narrow down your vacation bidding groups by name, enter text in the Search by Name field.
The Group tab is divided into the following sections:
- General: In this panel, you configure the vacation bidding group’s name, description, and reference code. You must also assign the group a calendar period record and a notification record.
- Sub-Groups: In this section, you configure subgroups for the vacation bidding group.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Name | The name of the vacation bidding group. |
Description | A description for the vacation bidding group. |
Calendar | The vacation bidding calendar record that you want to associate with the vacation bidding group. Dayforce derives these calendars from the Calendars tab of Vacation Bidding Setup. |
Notification | The vacation bidding notification record that you want to associate with the vacation bidding group. Dayforce derives these notifications records from the Notifications tab of Vacation Bidding Setup. |
Reference Code | A reference code for the vacation bidding group. This code must be unique and must not contain special characters. |
You can also configure subgroups for each vacation bidding group for more granular control over your vacation bidding sessions.
The Sub-Groups section contains a list where you can add subgroups to vacation bidding groups. Subgroups provide an additional level of control so that you can configure and add different eligibility limits for employees when you configure vacation bidding sessions. For example, you can configure a vacation bidding session to require five employees (such as cashiers) from the associated bidding group to work each day to maintain minimum staffing levels. Next, you can configure a different daily minimum limit for a subgroup of employees in the bidding group (for example, supervisors) so that two of these employees are required to work each day in the bidding period.
Subgroups are configured as an employee property in HR Admin > Employee Properties and assigned to employees in the People feature. For more information, see the following topics:
