Dayforce uses staff assignment policies to determine the order in which employees are shown in Schedules when users manually fill and reassign shifts. You configure staff assignment policies in Schedule Setup > Staff Assignment Policy.
Dayforce also uses staff assignment policies to determine the priority in which employees are scheduled when using the Generate > Fill Unfilled function in Schedules.
To configure a new staff assignment policy, you must:
- Configure Staff Assignment Policies
- Add Rulesets to Staff Assignment Policies
- Add Rules to Staff Assignment Policies
- Add Qualifiers to Staff Assignment Policies
When configured, Dayforce shows your staff assignment policies in the Find Candidate dialog box. You can view and select a policy by clicking Configure Option(s) in the Find Candidate dialog box. Dayforce shows staff assignment policies in the Ordering Policy drop-down list:
