In Dayforce, you can configure skills so that they’re marked as icons next to employees’ names in Schedules. This feature is useful for organizations that require employees with certain skills to be present on the schedule.
Role feature access: Schedule Setup > Schedule Setup > Skill Display
For example, you could use this feature to ensure that your store always has at least one scheduled employee with the Fire Safety skill:
The screenshot above shows three employees with skills. The leaf icon (
) represents the Food Handler skill, and the flame icon (
) represents the Fire Safety skill. If your schedule requires an employee to be present with both skills, you could schedule Eva, who has both skills, or Stu and Henry, who each have one of the skills.
To configure skill display, you must do the following in Learning Setup > Skills (see the Learning Guide):

- Configure Skill Types
- Assign Skills
