This rule defines the number shifts per week or month that employees can or should be scheduled to work.
Note: This rule was previously named the Shifts Per Week Rule.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Calendar Period | The calendar period that the rule uses to determine how many shifts employees can be scheduled. |
| Period Length (only for Week selection) | The length of the period, in weeks. Used only if you select Week in the Calendar Period drop-down list. |
| Min Threshold | The minimum number of shifts that employees must be scheduled in the calendar period. |
| Max Threshold | The maximum number of shifts that employees can be scheduled in the calendar period. |
| Pay Adjustments Count as Shifts | Include all shifts and pay adjustments in the rule’s calculations. You can include or exclude specific pay adjustment codes using the Included Pay Adjust Codes and Excluded Pay Adjust Codes drop-down lists. When you clear this checkbox, the rule includes only shifts in its calculations, and excludes pay adjustments. |
| Included Pay Adjust Codes Excluded Pay Adjust Codes |
The pay adjustment codes that the rule includes or excludes when determining how many shifts employees were scheduled to work during the calendar period. Your selections apply only if you select the Pay Adjustment Count as Shifts checkbox. |
| Qualifiers for a shift |
Look for additional scheduling violations that occur only in a specific time range. You can also configure the rule to trigger violations in only the following situations:
|
| Start Range End Range |
The time range that the rule checks to determine if employees are scheduled. When the number of shifts exceeds your minimum or maximum thresholds during the time range, Dayforce generates a violation. |
| Metric Value |
An additional metric to determine if shifts that are scheduled during the time range trigger a violation. The rule converts the time range into minutes and flags violations for shifts of a minimum length that occur during the time range. The metric is used in tandem with the Value setting. For example, to trigger violations only for shifts that are over 60 minutes, select Minutes in the Metric drop-down list and enter 60 in the Value field. When you select Percentage in the Metric drop-down list, the rule uses the minimum length of a shift, as a percentage, to determine when a violation is triggered. For example, if the time range is two hours and you enter 50 in the Value field, the rule triggers violations for shifts with lengths that exceed 50% of the time range (that is, 60 minutes). |
| Run even if no shifts | Run the rule even when no shifts exist on the schedule. |
| Min Severity Max Severity |
