Shift Time of Day Qualifier

The Shift Time of Day Qualifier restricts pay rules to apply only for scheduled shifts that occur between specific times. The qualifier looks at the start or end time of a schedule to determine if it qualifies. Because this qualifier considers only schedules, it doesn’t look at unscheduled shifts that the employee has worked.

For example, it can be used to specify that only night shifts that are scheduled to start between 8:00 PM and 12:00 AM are eligible to receive double daily overtime.

Note: Because the qualifier is based on scheduled shifts, when an employee works an unscheduled shift, the associated rule doesn’t qualify and isn’t applied. This occurs even if the employee’s worked shift falls in the eligible time ranges set in the qualifier’s settings. Additionally, this qualifier doesn’t run when the shift end time is after midnight on the following day.
