Set Up Multifactor Authentication Using the Smartphone App (recommended) Option

After selecting Smartphone App (recommended) in the Set up Multifactor Authentication screen, you are prompted to set up your contact information. This information is used to send you verification codes in a text message or a voice call. Your phone number is used in the initial set up process. Once you have set up the Authy application, you authenticate using the Authy app when logging in to Dayforce.

Note: If you choose to receive the verification code by text message, you will receive the text message in the language specified by your culture settings in Dayforce. If the language specified in your culture settings isn’t supported, Dayforce sends the SMS message in the English (US).

To log in to Dayforce and set up your account for MFA using the Authy smartphone application:

1. Log in to Dayforce.
2. In the Set up Multifactor Authentication screen, select Smartphone App (recommended) and click Continue.
3. In the Contact Information screen, enter the primary phone number that will be used to receive multifactor authentication codes when you log in.
4. (Optional) Select the Add Secondary Number checkbox to include a back-up phone number.
5. Click Continue.
6. Select Text Message or Voice Call to indicate how you want to receive a code to verify your number and click Continue.
7. Enter the verification code that you received and click Next. If you didn't receive the code, click Resend Verification Code via SMS or Resend Verification Code via Voice Call to try again.
8. Note: If you selected the Add Secondary Number checkbox when setting up your contact information, you will be prompted to enter and verify the secondary number.
8. Download the Authy application on your mobile device. You can download Authy from the App Store on your Apple device or from the Google Play Store on your Android device. In the Authy application:
   1. Select your country code and enter the primary number that you provided in the Dayforce MFA set up process.
   2. Verify your Authy account.
   3. Click your organization’s Dayforce HCM instance to display a 7-digit token that refreshes in 20 second intervals.
9. In Dayforce, click Continue. In the Connect Authy App screen, enter the token shown in the Authy app. A confirmation screen is shown that indicates that multifactor authentication is set up in your Dayforce account.
10. Click Continue to log in to Dayforce.
