Secure Task Management

To secure the tasks that users can review and update, you must:

  1. Create task groups.
  2. Assign task groups to the appropriate user roles.

Task groups are used when multiple users review and modify tasks for the same locations but shouldn't be able to review or modify each other's tasks. For example, the receiving manager reviews the different receiving tasks assigned to the Western region of an organization. The sales manager does the same for merchandising and other promotional tasks. Both sets of tasks are assigned to the Western region, but only the receiving manager can review receiving tasks and only the sales manager can review sales tasks. To satisfy this business need, two task groups are created: Receiving and Sales. The receiving manager is assigned to the Receiving task group and the sales manager to the Sales task group. When a corporate user needs to create a task for receiving, they select the Receiving task group in the task's configuration. For sales tasks they select the Sales task group.

Note: If both the task and the user role have a task group assigned to them, they must be in the same task group for the user to review and modify the task in Task Management.
