Schedule Data

Controls what access users have to schedule data in Schedules.

Can Create: Users can add and edit existing scheduled shifts.
Can Read: Users can view existing scheduled shift details, but with read-only access.
Can Update: Users can edit existing scheduled shifts.
Can Delete: Users can delete existing scheduled shifts.

You must assign all permissions for this access authorization if you intend to use the Access to Own Schedule Data access authorization. See Access to Own Schedule Data.

Schedule Data Sub-Authorizations

In System Admin > Roles in the Authorizations tab, you can control access to some schedule functions with more granularity. In the list of access authorizations, click the parameters configuration icon () in the Schedule Data row. Dayforce opens the Module sub-authorizations dialog box, which contains sub-authorizations that restrict access to specific functions in Centralized Schedules and Schedules.

For most sub-authorizations, you can restrict access to the function based on the following criteria:

Is Hidden: The function isn’t shown in the schedule feature for the selected role.
Is Disabled: The function is shown in the schedule feature for the selected role, but it’s grayed out and unavailable.

Important:

Some sub-authorization functions can’t be hidden.
The Schedules feature supports two different dialog boxes (segment and legacy) where you add and edit schedules. Many of these sub-authorizations affect each dialog box differently and, in some cases, they affect only the segment dialog box. The segment dialog box is available for users that are assigned the Schedules > Enable Segment Display role feature. Sub-Authorization	Description
Add Shift	Disables the ability to add shifts. Centralized Schedules: Disables the Add Schedule button and the add icon () in the grid. Disables the copy function () when you drag a shift to another cell. Disables the Add Unfilled Shift option in the Mass Edit dialog box in the Choose Your Action screen. Schedules: In the Grid View, disables the Add Schedule button and the add icon (). In the Grid View, disables the copy function () when you drag a shift to another cell. In the Bar View, disables the add shift icon. Disables the Add Unfilled Shift option in the Mass Edit dialog box in the Choose Your Action screen.
Edit Shift	Disables the ability to edit shifts. Centralized Schedules: Disables the Edit Schedule button and the edit icon () in the grid. Schedules: In the Grid View, disables the Edit Schedule button and the edit icon (). In the Bar View, disables the Edit Shift Details slide-out panel.
Delete Shift	Disables the ability to delete shifts. Centralized Schedules: Disables the delete icon () in the grid. Schedules: In the Grid View, disables the delete icon (). In the Bar View, disables the delete shift or shift details icon.
Employee	Disables some drop-down lists that contain employees. Centralized Schedules: Disables the Employee drop-down list in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Disables the move () and swap () functions when dragging a shift to a different cell, except for shifts in the same row (that is, shifts for the same employee). Schedules: Disables the Employee drop-down list in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes. In the Grid View, disables the move () and swap () functions when dragging a shift to a different cell, except for shifts in the same row (that is, shifts for the same employee).
Standby	Hides or disables the ability to mark standby shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the on-call icon () in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the on-call icon () in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Activity	Hides or disables the ability to add or edit a shift’s activity. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Activity drop-down list in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Hides or disables the Add Activity button in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Hides or disables the System Activity column in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules: Hides or disables the Activity drop-down list in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes. Hides or disables the Add Activity button in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes. Hides or disables the System Activity column in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes. In the Bar View, hides or disables the add activity icon and activity information in the Edit Shift Details slide-out panel. In the Grid View, hides or disables the Add Activity button in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule legacy dialog boxes. Activity information isn’t shown on schedules in the Grid View and Bar View.
Shift Origin	Hides or disables the ability to configure a different origin for a shift. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Shift Origin drop-down list in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Shift Origin drop-down list in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Shift Start/End	Disables the ability to configure a shift’s start and end times. This sub-authorization doesn’t affect the ability to configure start and end times in shift segments. It only limits the ability to configure the start time of a shift’s first segment and the end time of its last segment. To disable the ability to configure segment start and end times for meals, breaks, transfers, and more, use the Segment Start/End sub-authorization. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Start Time and End Time fields for a shift’s start and end in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Disables the move () and swap () functions when dragging a shift to a different cell, except for cells in the same column. Schedules: Hides or disables the Start Time and End Time fields for a shift’s start and end in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes. In the Grid View, disables the move () and swap () functions when dragging a shift to a different cell, except for cells in the same column.
Add Segment	Disables the ability to add shift segments. Centralized Schedules: Disables the Add Segment button in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Disables the Add Segment button in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Delete Segment	Disables the ability to delete shift segments. Centralized Schedules: Disables the Delete button in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Disables the Delete button in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Segment Start/End	Disables the ability to configure a segment’s start and end times. This sub-authorization doesn’t affect the ability to configure the start time of a shift’s first segment and the end time of its last segment. That functionality is controlled by the Shift Start/End sub-authorization. Centralized Schedules: Disables the Start Time and End Time fields for segments in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes, excluding the segments that start and end the shift. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Disables the Start Time and End Time fields for segments in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes, excluding the segments that start and end the shift.
Location	Disables the ability to configure a shift’s location. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Location field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Location field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box.
Location Type	Hides or disables the ability to configure a shift’s location type. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Location Type field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Location Type field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Job Assignment	Hide or disable the ability to configure a shift’s job assignment: Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Job Assignment field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Job Assignment field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box.
Pay Code	Hides or disables the ability to associate pay codes with shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Pay Code field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Pay Code field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box.
Docket	Hides or disables the ability to add dockets to shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Docket field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Docket field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box.
Project	Hides or disables the ability to add projects to shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Project field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Project field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box.
Labor Metrics	Hides or disables the ability to add labor metrics to shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables labor metric columns in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables labor metric columns in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes, and in some areas of the Mass Edit dialog box.
Shift Comment	Hides or disables the ability to add comments to shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Comments field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Comments field in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Segment Comment	Hides or disables the ability to add comments to shift segments. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Comment column for segments in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Comment column in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Add Meal or Break	Disables the ability to add meals and breaks to shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Add Meal and Add Break buttons in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Add Meal and Add Break buttons in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Delete Meal or Break	Disables the ability to delete meals and breaks from shifts. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Delete button when a meal or break segment is selected in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Delete button when a meal or break segment is selected in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
Meal or Break Start/End	Hides or disables the ability to change the start and end times of meals and breaks. Centralized Schedules: Hides or disables the Start Time and End Time fields when a meal or break segment is selected in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule dialog boxes. Schedules (segment dialog box only): Hides or disables the Start Time and End Time fields when a meal or break segment is selected in the Add Schedule and Edit Schedule segment dialog boxes.
