Before You Begin: This notification needs to be enabled by scheduling the Initiate Review Notification background job. See Initiate Review Notification Job.
When you run the Initiate Review Notification background job, it triggers the following actions:
- The manager receives a notification when the manager review step begins.
- The employee receives a notification when the employee review step begins.
You cannot edit the content or configuration of this notification, but users and roles don’t have to be subscribed to receive this notification; they receive it automatically.
Employees who are assigned to the review cycle and their direct managers receive notifications. Managers and administrators that have non-direct access to the employee don’t receive this notification unless they were added as an additional reviewer in Performance Setup > Review Setup > Review Cycles.
