The Revenue RPN background job communicates with the Irish Office of the Revenue Commissioners (or Revenue) to retrieve available or updated Revenue Payroll Notifications (RPNs) for employees in a selected legal entity. RPNs provide employers with the information required to deduct the correct amount of income tax, Universal Social Charge (USC) and Local Property Tax (LPT) from each employee every pay period. They also include information related to employee illness benefit claims. For more information about RPNs, see Ireland Payroll Taxation.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Legal Entity | The legal entity to include in the background job. |
Tax Year | The tax year to include in the background job. |
Last Run Date | If available, Dayforce provides the date the background job was last run. If this isn’t specified, the background job doesn’t retrieve RPNs before the current date that the background job is being run. |
Request RPN for new employees | When this checkbox is selected, Dayforce identifies employees with missing RPNs and sends a request to Irish Revenue. If all of the employees in the selected legal entity have valid RPNs, Dayforce retrieves the RPN data from Revenue. When the checkbox is cleared, no request is sent, and Dayforce retrieves the data without verifying that an RPN exists for each employee. The checkbox is selected by default. |
