Dictates which user roles can create, edit, and delete time entries that would result in retroactive pay adjustments (or, retros). Retros represent changes that are made to locked time and attendance records that occurred in a transmitted pay period. Even though the pay period has been transmitted to payroll, users with this access authorization can still create, edit, or delete time entries. Because the pay period has been transmitted, these would come in the form of retro time entries.
Note: This access authorization controls permissions only for retro time entries, and not retro pay adjustments (which include retro time away requests). The permissions for retro pay adjustments are controlled by the Retro Pay Adjustments access authorization. See Retro Pay Adjustments.
When assigning Can Create, Can Read, Can Update, and Can Delete permissions for retro time entries, note the following:
- Can Create: Users can add, edit, and delete retros before saving. After saving, they can only create retros and can’t edit or delete retros that were already saved. To edit or delete ones that were saved, assign the Can Edit and Can Delete permissions.
- Can Read: Users can view the retro panel for retro time entries.
- To edits shifts in Manager Timesheet, assign all permissions. This is because shift times can be updated to zero hours, which is equivalent to deleting the shift.
- If employee time entry policies are configured with tardy rules: to edit a shift where tardy time was recorded, assign the Can Create, Can Update, and Can Delete permissions of both the Retro Time Entries and Retro Pay Adjustments access authorizations. This is because tardy shifts contain both employee time entries and pay adjustments (for tardy time).
Note: When edits to a past schedule in Schedules are made, Dayforce runs the rule engine to recalculate the employee’s pay and, depending on the configuration of the pay rules and qualifiers in use, changes to pay can occur. As a result, for added security and to prevent inadvertent retros from being created, it’s not possible to edit any schedules in Schedules on retro pay periods (that is, on transmitted pay periods). However, users with the required access can still edit schedules in past, non-retro periods. See Edit Past Schedules.
