Restricted Balance

You can create two or more balances to account for policies that require a probation period for accessing accrued time. When an employee is in their probationary period, they accrue earned time in a restricted-access balance. At the end of the probationary period, Dayforce moves the accrued amount into a second balance that has unrestricted access.

Note: See Configure Common Types of Recurrences and Configure Common Types of Entitlements.

To configure a restricted sick balance:

  1. Go to Pay Setup > Balances and click the Balances tab.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Enter a name and a description for the balance.
  4. In the Options section in the Units drop-down list, select the unit your organization uses to measure the balance.
  5. Select the Access Restricted checkbox.
  6. Select the Print Current Accrued on Payroll checkbox if the time accrued during the probationary period should be shown on earning statements.
  7. Make sure that there are no pay adjustment codes assigned in the Pay Adjustments section.
  8. Click Save.
